Hello Carol

I just wanted to say to you personally, how very touched I was to hear that my little ramblings on here have had such an impact on you and your dear husband over the yrs I have been on this forum.

There have been times, even recent times when things have been so very dire that I have hardly dared to post in case of putting off new people but to read that someone cared, who I dont even know, really touched me especially in the dark days and nights in the hospital- I remembered the good people on here and couldnt help but raise a secret smile or two.

Lastly, I want to tell you how very very sorry I am that you lost your husband, soul mate and dearest friend so suddenly. You will probably know that I am a Christian and as such I feel really strongly that this loss was never meant to be and that Jesus himself attends funerals and cries at them as he did in the Bible.
It must feel like someone is sat on your chest and squeezing every tear and ounce of strength from you. I have been through some terrible times of loss and my vicar (a lovely wise man) said if you can go outside and notice the birds, the flowers and nature and feel for a short moment the peace of the soul that this gives. It really helped me.

Much love to you Carol. Hope that this day you can spot something lovely for a moment outside.

Jenni xx

Hi Jenni,

Thankyou so much for your beautiful post, I had to read it three times as I couldnt read it through the tears.

Hope you are feeling not too bad today and it is not too hot for you, Pete always struggled with the heat.

Pete and I spent a lot of time outdoors over the years, mainly at animal parks or zoos as he was a wildlife
artist, so the outdoors means a lot to me. Yesterday our youngest son and his partner took me to Port Lympne
Wildlife Park, where Pete and I spent hours and hours just taking photos so that he could paint them, for a meeting
to discuss having a memorial bench put in our favourite spot, they have agreed that we can do this and are going
to make a special area to put the bench. It felt so good that we can do this for him, and I know he would be so proud.
So being outside and being with nature is peaceful and beautiful.
I really wish that he had had the confidence to post on here as it would have been so nice if you could all have got to
know him, he was so caring as you all are and I do appreciate the support from everyone.
I hope you have lots of good days so that you can enjoy being with your family.

Lots of Love

Carol
